If you click the dash "-" button on an expanded node header, you collapse it and will only see the node header, title, type, number of up/down-votes, bookmarks, and parent/child links.

If you click the square button on a collapsed node header, you expand it and will only see all the components of the node.

Collapsing vs. Expanding a 1Cademy Node

To collapse an expanded 1Cademy node, click the dash button at the left of its header. Collapsing hides the node body while leaving the header, title, type, votes, bookmarks, and parent and child links visible.

On 1Cademy the visibility of a node can be one of the following three:
- Collapsed
- Expanded
- Hidden

1Cademy Node Visibility

The 1Cademy node header contains controls for changing how a node appears on the map. These controls let you expand or collapse the node, hide the node, or hide all of its offspring.

If you would like to hide a specific node from your map view, you can click the right-most icon in the node header to hide it. A hidden node will disappear from your map view. You can reopen it by searching for the node using the search tool (link to search tool article) or using its parent links.

***Note:*** Having a lot of nodes open may cause the map to lag. Be sure to hide or close nodes when they are not in use.

Hiding a 1Cademy Node

To view the content of a collapsed node, you have to expand it. To expand a collapsed node, click on the left-most icon in the node header. An expanded node will display the footer and body features. The node must be in its expanded form to use the features in the footer.

Expanding a 1Cademy Node

If you would like to hide a node’s all offsprings from the map, click the middle icon in the node header. To open children, refer to the Node Footer article.
