Dermatophytes
Dermatophytes are a group of pathogenic, keratin-requiring ascomycetes from the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. They are capable of causing cutaneous mycoses, including skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm.
