Distinction Between Negative Correlation and No Correlation

A negative correlation is not the same as no correlation. A negative correlation indicates a systematic, predictable relationship where two variables move in opposite directions (as one increases, the other decreases). In contrast, no correlation (zero correlation) means there is no linear relationship between the variables at all, meaning changes in one variable provide no predictive information about the other.
