Eukaryotic Plasma Membrane

The eukaryotic plasma membrane is structurally similar to prokaryotic membranes, with components moving according to the fluid mosaic model. However, it contains sterols that modify membrane fluidity, along with glycoproteins and glycolipids that facilitate cell recognition and the detection of infectious particles.
