Academic Effort Versus Cognitive Ability as Explanations of the Asian–White Achievement Gap
The reported results suggest that the growing Asian American–White achievement gap corresponds to a widening difference in academic effort. Differences in measured cognitive ability do not show the same pattern and therefore do not explain the growing achievement gap.
