Microbial Identification Using Storage Granules

Some microorganisms store specific chemical compounds as intracellular granules in their cytoplasm. Identifying the presence, absence, or content of these storage granules can serve as a diagnostic phenotypic biochemical characteristic for classifying and identifying microorganisms.
