Research-community awareness of COVID-19 paper retractions
Published COVID-19 articles and preprints may be retracted or withdrawn after substantial criticism of their findings or methods. Researchers who encountered earlier versions may remain unaware of the status change, allowing disputed findings to continue circulating. Efficiently communicating retraction and withdrawal notices is therefore an important research-information challenge.
