Eating disorders in a health-psychology approach: model of pathogenic processing of cognitive information

In terms of health psychology research in relation to eating disorders, a theoretical approach of cognitive information processing in eating disorders is examined. This approach was developed based on the systems theory, in which mental and psychosomatic illnesses are grouped as consequences of an unnatural human interaction group. This systems theory specifically is centered around health psychology. In this theory, deviations in the concept of self, the role in which procedural memory has in body image and how working memory aids cognitive dysfunction in eating disorders are discussed.
