Leghemoglobin
Leghemoglobin is a carrier protein produced by legume plants (such as soybeans, peanuts, or beans) during their symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing soil rhizobia. It binds to its substrate oxygen with very high affinity at its active site, which is critical for its biological function.
