A continuous cell line is a cell culture, typically derived from transformed cells or tumors, that can be subcultured repeatedly or grown indefinitely. Unlike primary cultures, continuous cell lines often lack anchorage dependency and contact inhibition, allowing them to grow in suspension and form multi-layered clumps.
