Trichomonas vaginalis
Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasitic protozoan pathogen belonging to the trichomonads subgroup of Parabasalids. It lacks conventional mitochondria, possessing hydrogenosomes instead, and causes the sexually transmitted infection trichomoniasis.
