Clostridia are a group of low G+C gram-positive bacteria that are typically obligate anaerobes and capable of producing endospores.

Mycoplasmas are gram positive bacteria even though they lack a cell wall. They were identified by being gram positive because of their low G+C content genome.

The genus *Mycoplasma* consists of more than $${}100$$ species of bacteria that lack a cell wall and are classified as low G+C gram-positive bacteria, despite not staining with Gram-stain reagents. These bacteria are extremely small, with some diameters around $${}0.2$$ μm, which is smaller than certain large viruses. Due to the absence of a cell wall, *Mycoplasma* cells are pleomorphic, meaning they lack a fixed shape, can assume diverse forms, and may resemble tiny animal cells, making them challenging to identify.

Bacilli is a class of low G+C gram-positive bacteria that includes both rod-shaped and spherical (coccus-shaped) species, such as the genera Bacillus and Staphylococcus.

In gram-positive bacteria, the cell wall consists of a thick peptidoglycan layer, totaling $${}30-100$$ nm in thickness. Within this thick layer, the N-acetylmuramic acid (NAM) molecules are connected by tetrapeptide chains linked via pentaglycine cross-bridges. This differs from gram-negative bacteria, where the tetrapeptide chains extending from each NAM unit are directly cross-linked. The peptidoglycan layers in gram-positive bacteria are commonly embedded with teichoic acids (TAs) on the external side, which increase the rigidity of the cell wall.

The class *Actinobacteria* is also called the high G+C gram positive bacteria because their genomes have over 50% guanine and cytosine base pairs. While their class is very diverse in size and biomes they inhabit, one of their important features is that they have distinct and different peptidoglycans in their cell walls.
