Wendell Stanley

Wendell Stanley was the first scientist to crystallize the structure of the tobacco mosaic virus in 1935, discovering that it is composed of RNA and protein. In 1943, he isolated the Influenza B virus, contributing to the development of an influenza vaccine, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1946 for unlocking the mystery of the physical nature of viruses.
