آن یکی در وقت استنجا بگفت
که مرا با بوی جنت دار جفت
گفت شخصی خوب ورد آوردهیی
لیک سوراخ دعا گم کردهیی
گفت آن ماهی زیرک ره کنم
دل ز رای و مشورتشان بر کنم
سوی دریا عزم کن زین آبگیر
بحر جو و ترک این گرداب گیر
رفت آن ماهی ره دریا گرفت
راه دور و پهنهٔ پهنا گرفت
پس چو صیادان بیاوردند دام
نیمعاقل را از آن شد تلخکام
English translation
One person, during his ablution, said: 'O Lord, join me with the fragrance of Paradise!' Another person said: 'You have offered a fine prayer, But you have misplaced the proper channel of prayer!' ... The wise fish said: 'I will make my way, I will detach my heart from their advice and counsel.' 'Make your way toward the sea from this pond, Seek the ocean and abandon this whirlpool.'
