Example

Example: Finding the Domain and Range of the Relation {(1,1), (2,4), (3,9), (4,16), (5,25)}

To find the domain and range of the relation {(1,1), (2,4), (3,9), (4,16), (5,25)}, we analyze the first and second coordinates of each ordered pair. The domain is the set of all the xx-values. Extracting the first coordinate from each pair yields the domain: {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}. The range is the set of all the yy-values. Extracting the second coordinate from each pair gives the range: {1, 4, 9, 16, 25}.
