Example

Example: Finding the Domain and Range of the Relation {(1,3), (2,6), (3,9), (4,12), (5,15)}

For the relation given by the set {(1,3), (2,6), (3,9), (4,12), (5,15)}, the domain is identified by listing the first elements of each ordered pair. Since the xx-values are 11, 22, 33, 44, and 55, the domain is {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}. The range is found by listing the second elements. The corresponding yy-values are 33, 66, 99, 1212, and 1515, so the range is {3, 6, 9, 12, 15}.
