متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

سنگها اندر کف بوجهل بودگفت ای احمد بگو این چیست زود
Stones were in the palm of Abu Jahl;
He said: "O Ahmad, tell me quickly—what is this?
گر رسولی چیست در مشتم نهانچون خبر داری ز راز آسمان
If you are a messenger, what is hidden in my fist,
Since you have knowledge of the secrets of heaven?"
گفت چون خواهی بگویم آن چه هاستیا بگویند آن که ما حقیم و راست
He said: "Do you wish that I tell what they are,
Or that they themselves declare that we are true and right?"
گفت بوجهل این دوم نادرترستگفت آری حق از آن قادرترست
Abu Jahl said: "The second is more rare."
He said: "Yes, the Truth is more capable than that."
از میان مشت او هر پاره سنگدر شهادت گفتن آمد بی درنگ
From within his fist, each piece of stone
Came to bear witness without delay.
لا اله گفت و الا الله گفتگوهر احمد رسول الله سفت
It said "La ilaha" and said "illa Allah,"
And pierced the pearl: "Ahmad is the Messenger of God."
چون شنید از سنگها بوجهل اینزد ز خشم آن سنگها را بر زمین
When Abu Jahl heard this from the stones,
He flung those stones to the ground in rage.
