دفتر سوم - بخش ۱۲۹ - جواب آن مثل کی منکران گفتند از رسالت خرگوش پیغام به پیل از ماه آسمان / Book Three - Section 129 - The Answer to the Parable Told by the Deniers Regarding the Hare's Messengership and Message to the Elephant from the Moon in the Sky

متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

سر آن خرگوش دان دیو فضولکه به پیش نفس تو آمد رسول
Know the secret of that hare to be the meddlesome devil,
who came as a messenger to your ego,
تا که نفس گول را محروم کردز آب حیوانی که از وی خضر خورد
So that he deprived the foolish ego
of the Water of Life from which Khizr drank.
بازگونه کرده ای معنیش راکفر گفتی مستعد شو نیش را
You have inverted its meaning;
you have spoken disbelief, get ready for the sting.
اضطراب ماه گفتی در زلالکه بترسانید پیلان را شغال
You spoke of the moon's quivering in the clear water,
with which the jackal frightened the elephants.
قصهٔ خرگوش و پیل آری و آبخشیت پیلان ز مه در اضطراب
You bring up the tale of the hare, the elephant, and the water,
and the elephants' fear of the moon in its trembling.
این چه ماند آخر ای کوران خامبا مهی که شد زبونش خاص و عام
How can this compare, O raw, blind ones,
with a Moon to whom elite and common alike are subdued?
چه مه و چه آفتاب و چه فلکچه عقول و چه نفوس و چه ملک
What is the moon, what is the sun, what is the sky?
What are intellects, what are souls, what are angels?
آفتاب آفتاب آفتاباین چه می گویم مگر هستم بخواب
The Sun of the sun of the sun!
What am I saying? Am I asleep?
صد هزاران شهر را خشم شهانسرنگون کردست ای بد گم رهان
The wrath of kings has overturned
hundreds of thousands of cities, O you of evil ways.
کوه بر خود می شکافد صد شکافآفتابی از کسوفش در شغاف
The mountain splits itself with a hundred clefts;
a sun, from its eclipse, is in distress.
خشم مردان خشک گرداند سحابخشم دلها کرد عالمها خراب
The wrath of men dries up the cloud;
the wrath of hearts has ruined worlds.
بنگرید ای مردگان بی حنوطدر سیاستگاه شهرستان لوط
Look, O you dead ones without embalming spice,
at the place of punishment of the city of Lot.
پیل خود چه بود که سه مرغ پرانکوفتند آن پیلکان را استخوان
What, indeed, is the elephant? For three flying birds
crushed the bones of those little elephants.
اضعف مرغان ابابیلست و اوپیل را بدرید و نپذیرد رفو
The weakest of birds is the Ababil, and it
tore the elephant to pieces, beyond repair.
کیست کو نشنید آن طوفان نوحیا مصاف لشکر فرعون و روح
Who is there that has not heard of Noah's flood,
or the battle of Pharaoh's army and the Spirit?
روحشان بشکست و اندر آب ریختذره ذره آبشان بر می گسیخت
He broke their spirit and poured them into the water;
drop by drop, their water was tearing apart.
کیست کو نشنید احوال ثمودو آنک صرصر عادیان را می ربود
Who is there that has not heard of the plight of Thamud,
and how the roaring wind swept away the people of 'Ad?
چشم باری در چنان پیلان گشاکه بدندی پیل کش اندر وغا
Open your eyes at least to such elephants,
who were elephant-slayers in battle.
آنچنان پیلان و شاهان ظلومزیر خشم دل همیشه در رجوم
Such elephants and tyrannical kings
are always under the stoning of the heart's wrath.
تا ابد از ظلمتی در ظلمتیمی روند و نیست غوثی رحمتی
To eternity, they go from darkness to darkness,
and there is no rescuer, no mercy.
نام نیک و بد مگر نشنیده ایدجمله دیدند و شما نادیده اید
Have you not heard the names of the good and the bad?
Everyone saw, but you remain sightless.
دیده را نادیده می آرید لیکچشمتان را وا گشاید مرگ نیک
You pretend not to see what you have seen, but
a good death will open your eyes well.
گیر عالم پر بود خورشید و نورچون روی در ظلمتی مانند گور
Suppose the world is full of sun and light;
when you go into darkness like the grave,
بی نصیب آیی از آن نور عظیمبسته روزن باشی از ماه کریم
You will be deprived of that immense light,
you will be a closed window to the noble moon.
تو درون چاه رفتستی ز کاخچه گنه دارد جهانهای فراخ
You have gone into the well from the palace;
what sin do the spacious worlds have?
جان که اندر وصف گرگی ماند اوچون ببیند روی یوسف را بگو
A soul that has remained with the attributes of a wolf,
how can it see the face of Joseph? Tell me!
لحن داودی به سنگ و که رسیدگوش آن سنگین دلانش کم شنید
The melody of David reached the rock and the mountain;
the ears of those hard-hearted ones barely heard it.
آفرین بر عقل و بر انصاف بادهر زمان والله اعلم بالرشاد
Praise be to intellect and to fairness,
at all times; and God knows best what is right.
صدقوا رسلا کراما یا سباصدقوا روحا سباها من سبا
Believe the noble messengers, O Saba!
Believe the spirit that captivated from Saba!
صدقوهم هم شموس طالعهیومنوکم من مخازی القارعه
Believe them, they are rising suns,
they will secure you from the disgraces of the Striking Calamity.
صدقوهم هم بدور زاهرهقبل ان یلقوکم بالساهره
Believe them, they are shining full moons,
before they meet you on the plain of Resurrection.
صدقوهم هم مصابیح الدجیاکرموهم هم مفاتیح الرجا
Believe them, they are the lamps of the darkness;
honor them, they are the keys of hope.
صدقوا من لیس یرجو خیرکملا تضلوا لا تصدوا غیرکم
Believe him who does not hope for your wealth;
do not go astray, do not turn others away!
پارسی گوییم هین تازی بهلهندوی آن ترک باش ای آب و گل
Let me speak Persian; come, leave Arabic.
Be the Hindu of that Turk, O water and clay!
هین گواهیهای شاهان بشنویدبگرویدند آسمانها بگروید
Come, hear the testimonies of the kings;
the heavens believed, so you believe too!
