دفتر سوم - بخش ۹۸ - اقتدا کردن قوم از پس دقوقی / Book Three - Section 98 - The Congregation Following Behind Daquqi

پیش در شد آن دقوقی در نمازقوم همچون اطلس آمد او طراز
Daqūqī stepped forward into the prayer;
The congregation came like satin, he like its gold border.
اقتدا کردند آن شاهان قطاردر پی آن مقتدای نامدار
Those kings aligned in rows,
Following behind that renowned Imam.
چونک با تکبیرها مقرون شدندهمچو قربان از جهان بیرون شدند
When they became joined in the takbīrs,
They departed from the world like sacrificial offerings.
معنی تکبیر اینست ای امامکای خدا پیش تو ما قربان شدیم
The meaning of the takbīr is this, O Imam:
"O God, before You we have become sacrifices."
وقت ذبح الله اکبر می‌کنیهمچنین در ذبح نفس کشتنی
At the time of slaughter you cry "Allāhu Akbar";
So too in the slaughter of the nafs, the killable.
تن چو اسمعیل و جان همچون خلیلکرد جان تکبیر بر جسم نبیل
The body is like Ismā'īl and the soul like Khalīl;
The soul cried the takbīr over the noble body.
گشت کشته تن ز شهوتها و آزشد به بسم الله بسمل در نماز
The body was slain from lusts and greed;
It was slaughtered with "Bismillāh" in prayer.
چون قیامت پیش حق صفها زدهدر حساب و در مناجات آمده
As on the Day of Resurrection, standing in rows before the Truth,
Having come to the reckoning and to intimate supplication—
ایستاده پیش یزدان اشک‌ریزبر مثال راست‌خیز رستخیز
Standing before Yazdan, shedding tears,
In the likeness of the upright rising of the Resurrection.
حق همی‌گوید چه آوردی مرااندرین مهلت که دادم من ترا
God keeps saying: "What have you brought Me
In this respite that I gave you?
عمر خود را در چه پایان برده‌ایقوت و قوت در چه فانی کرده‌ای
In what have you brought your life to its end?
In what have you exhausted provision upon provision?
گوهر دیده کجا فرسوده‌ایپنج حس را در کجا پالوده‌ای
Where have you worn away the jewel of sight?
Where have you refined the five senses?
چشم و هوش و گوش و گوهرهای عرشخرج کردی چه خریدی تو ز فرش
Eyes and intellect and ears and the jewels of the Throne—
You spent them: what did you buy from the earth?
دست و پا دادمت چون بیل و کلندمن ببخشیدم ز خود آن کی شدند
I gave you hands and feet like spade and pickaxe;
I bestowed them from Myself—when did they become yours?"
همچنین پیغامهای دردگینصد هزاران آید از حضرت چنین
Likewise, messages of pain
Come from the Divine Presence in hundreds of thousands like this.
در قیام این کفتها دارد رجوعوز خجالت شد دوتا او در رکوع
In the standing, these words have their reference,
And from shame he became doubled over in the bowing.
قوت استادن از خجلت نمانددر رکوع از شرم تسبیحی بخواند
The strength to stand was lost from shame;
In the rukū', from embarrassment, he recited a tasbīh.
باز فرمان می‌رسد بردار سراز رکوع و پاسخ حق بر شمر
Again the command arrives: "Raise your head
From the rukū' and enumerate an answer to God."
سر بر آرد از رکوع آن شرمسارباز اندر رو فتد آن خام‌کار
That shamefaced one lifts his head from the rukū'—
That raw one falls again upon his face.
باز فرمان آیدش بردار سراز سجود و وا ده از کرده خبر
Again the command comes to him: "Raise your head
From the sujūd and give account of what you have done."
سر بر آرد او دگر ره شرمساراندر افتد باز در رو همچو مار
He raises his head again, shamefaced,
Falls again on his face like a serpent.
باز گوید سر بر آر و باز گوکه بخواهم جست از تو مو بمو
Again it says: "Raise your head and speak again,
For I will seek from you, hair by hair."
قوت پا ایستادن نبودشکه خطاب هیبتی بر جان زدش
He had no strength in his legs to stand,
For an awe-inspiring address had struck his soul.
پس نشیند قعده زان بار گرانحضرتش گوید سخن گو با بیان
So he sits in the qa'da from that heavy burden;
The Divine Presence says to him: "Speak clearly.
نعمتت دادم بگو شکرت چه بوددادمت سرمایه هین بنمای سود
I gave you blessings—say, what was your gratitude?
I gave you capital—now, show the profit."
رو بدست راست آرد در سلامسوی جان انبیا و آن کرام
He turns his face to the right hand in the salām,
Toward the souls of the prophets and those noble ones—
یعنی ای شاهان شفاعت کین لئیمسخت در گل ماندش پای و گلیم
Meaning: "O kings, intercede for this wretch;
His foot and his blanket are stuck fast in the mud."
