متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation
| گفت بخشیدم بدو ایمان نعم | ور تو خواهی این زمان زندهش کنم |
| He said: I have granted him faith — yes, And if you wish, I will revive him this very moment. | |
| بلک جمله مردگان خاک را | این زمان زنده کنم بهر ترا |
| Nay, all the dead beneath the earth — I will revive them all this moment for your sake. | |
| گفت موسی این جهان مردنست | آن جهان انگیز کانجا روشنست |
| Moses said: This world is a world of dying; Rouse that world, for there it is luminous. | |
| این فناجا چون جهان بود نیست | بازگشت عاریت بس سود نیست |
| This place of annihilation — what kind of world is it? It is nothing. The return of a borrowed thing brings little profit. | |
| رحمتی افشان بر ایشان هم کنون | در نهانخانهٔ لدینا محضرون |
| Scatter mercy upon them even now, In the hidden chamber of ladaynā maḥḍarūn. | |
| تابدانی که زیان جسم و مال | سود جان باشد رهاند از وبال |
| So that you may know that the loss of body and wealth Is the soul's gain — it delivers from affliction. | |
| پس ریاضت را به جان شو مشتری | چون سپردی تن به خدمت جان بری |
| Then become a buyer of spiritual discipline with your soul; When you surrender the body to service, you carry off the soul. | |
| ور ریاضت آیدت بی اختیار | سر بنه شکرانه ده ای کامیار |
| And if spiritual discipline comes to you without your choice, Bow your head, give thanks, O fortunate one. | |
| چون حقت داد آن ریاضت شکر کن | تو نکردی او کشیدت ز امر کن |
| Since the Truth has given you that discipline, give thanks; You did not do it — He drew you by the command "Be!" | |
