متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

وا مگردان هیچ ازینها دم مزنتا نیاید بر من و تو صد حزن
Do not disclose any of this; do not breathe a word of these things, so that a hundred sorrows may not come upon me and you.
عاقبت پیدا شود آثار اینچون علامتها رسید ای نازنین
In the end the effects of this will become manifest, when the signs arrive, O beloved.
در زمان از سوی میدان نعره هامی رسید از خلق و پر می شد هوا
At that moment, from the direction of the square, cries were coming from the people, and the air was being filled.
شاه از آن هیبت برون جست آن زمانپابرهنه کین چه غلغلهاست هان
The king, terrified by that uproar, jumped out at once, barefoot, saying: What is this clamor?
از سوی میدان چه بانگست و غریوکز نهیبش می رمد جنی و دیو
What noise and shouting is coming from the square, whose dread makes jinn and demons flee?
گفت عمران شاه ما را عمر بادقوم اسرائیلیانند از تو شاد
Imran said: May our king live long; the Israelites are joyful because of you.
از عطای شاه شادی می کنندرقص می آرند و کفها می زنند
They are rejoicing at the king’s bounty; they are dancing and clapping their hands.
گفت باشد کین بود اما ولیکوهم و اندیشه مرا پر کرد نیک
He said: Granted, this may be so; nevertheless, suspicion and anxious thought have filled me completely.
