Book Three - Section 32 - Pharaoh's Fear of That Sound

Original content

English translation

This sound has changed my soul, With bitter grief and sorrow it has made me old. The king kept pacing forward, then retreating, All night like a pregnant woman at the moment of labor. Every moment he said: "O Imran, these cries Have badly taken me out of my place." Poor Imran had not the courage to reveal The mingling with his wife. For Imran's wife had crept close to Imran, Until the star of Moses became visible. Every prophet who enters the womb, His star becomes manifest in the heavenly sphere.
