| گفتشان در خواب کای اولاد من | نیست ممکن ظاهر این را دم زدن |
| He said to them in a dream: "O my children, it is not possible to utter this openly. | |
| فاش و مطلق گفتنم دستور نیست | لیک راز از پیش چشمم دور نیست |
| I am not permitted to say it plainly and absolutely, but the secret is not beyond my sight. | |
| لیک بنمایم نشانی با شما | تا شود پیدا شما را این خفا |
| Yet I will show you a sign, so that this hidden matter may become clear to you. | |
| نور چشمانم چو آنجا گه روید | از مقام خفتنش آگه شوید |
| O lights of my eyes, when you go there, learn the place where he sleeps. | |
| آن زمان که خفته باشد آن حکیم | آن عصا را قصد کن بگذار بیم |
| When that sage is asleep, aim for that staff and put fear aside. | |
| گر بدزدی و توانی ساحرست | چارهٔ ساحر بر تو حاضرست |
| If you can steal it, and are able to do so, he is a sorcerer, and the remedy for a sorcerer is then ready to your hand. | |
| ور نتانی هان و هان آن ایزدیست | او رسول ذوالجلال و مهتدیست |
| But if you cannot, beware, beware: that is divine; he is the messenger of the Lord of Glory, rightly guided. | |
| گر جهان فرعون گیرد شرق و غرب | سرنگون آید خدا آنگاه حرب |
| If Pharaoh takes the world, east and west, God will overthrow him when war comes. | |
| این نشان راست دادم جان باب | بر نویس الله اعلم بالصواب |
| I have given this true sign, dear children; write: God knows best what is right. | |
| جان بابا چون بخسپد ساحری | سحر و مکرش را نباشد رهبری |
| Dear children, when a sorcerer sleeps, his sorcery and cunning have no guide. | |
| چونک چوپان خفت گرگ آمن شود | چونک خفت آن جهد او ساکن شود |
| When the shepherd sleeps, the wolf is secure; when he sleeps, his effort grows still. | |
| لیک حیوانی که چوپانش خداست | گرگ را آنجا امید و ره کجاست |
| But an animal whose shepherd is God: what hope or path has the wolf there? | |
| جادوی که حق کند حقست و راست | جادوی خواندن مر آن حق را خطاست |
| The "magic" that the Real performs is truth and right; to call that Truth magic is an error. | |
| جان بابا این نشان قاطعست | گر بمیرد نیز حقش رافعست |
| Dear children, this sign is decisive; even if he dies, the Real is his upholder." | |
