بخش ۱۱ - در مدح خواجه سعدالدّین ابوالفضل / Section 11 - In Praise of Khwaja Sa'd al-Din Abul-Fazl

متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

خدا را آنکه محبوب و حبیبستابوالفضل زمان ابن الربیبست
For God, he who is beloved and a lover,
Is the Abu'l-Fazl of the age, the son of al-Rabib.
دل و دین خواجه سعدالدین که امروزدل اوست آفتاب عالم افروز
The heart and faith, Khwaja Sa'd al-Din, who today,
His heart is the world-illuminating sun.
خراسان را وزارت داشت بابشولی انداخت او تابرد آبش
His father held the ministry of Khorasan,
But he threw it away to preserve his honor.
چو ابراهیم ادهم ملک بگذاشتکه او ملک خلافت یکجو انگاشت
Like Ibrahim ibn Adham, he left the kingdom,
For he considered the kingdom of caliphate as worth a single grain of barley.
قیام آفرینش از دل اوستکه نقد هر دو عالم حاصل اوست
The uprightness of creation is from his heart,
For the wealth of both worlds is his harvest.
سر یک موی او عالم نداندکه داند قدر او اوهم نداند
The world does not know even a hair's breadth of him;
Who knows his worth? Even he himself does not know it.
چو حق تحت قباب لایزالیشفرود آورد، حق داند معالیش
When God brought him down under the domes of His eternity,
God alone knows his high spiritual stations.
بحق امروز قطب اولیا اوستحریم خاص را خاص خدا اوست
In truth, today he is the pole of the saints;
He is God's special one in the private sanctuary.
گر اوتادند و گر ابدال امروزازو دارند کشف حال امروز
Whether they are the pillars or the substitutes today,
They have the unveiling of their state from him.
هر آن علمی که در لوح جهانستباقصی الغایة او را نقد جانست
Whatever knowledge is on the tablet of the world,
To the furthest limit, it is the cash of his soul.
کمال فضل و علم او نهان نیستولیکن کور دل را چشم آن نیست
The perfection of his virtue and knowledge is not hidden,
But the blind-hearted has no eye for it.
چو رو آورد در معلوم پیوستهمه پشتش ورای روی آن هست
When he turned his face, he joined with the known,
And all his back is beyond the face of it.
چو بود او در شریعت شافعی دوستطریقت را علی الحق شافعی اوست
As he was a lover of Shafi'i in the Law,
In truth, he is the intercessor of the Path.
که سر جملهٔ فقه و اصول اومعین دیده از نور رسول او
He saw clearly the head of all his jurisprudence and principles
From the light of his Messenger.
همه اسرار قرآنش عیانستکه با او علم مطلق در میانست
All the secrets of the Quran are manifest to him,
For absolute knowledge is present between him and God.
بود بر قرب ماهی شرب آبشبرین میکن قیاس خورد و خوابش
His drinking of water is near the fish;
By this, estimate his eating and sleeping.
طعام او چه گویم کز چسانستکه هر روزش کم از ده سیر نانست
What shall I say of his food and how it is,
For every day his food is less than ten seers of bread.
شده سی سال تادل بر سخنهابخلوت روی آوردست تنها
It has been thirty years since his heart turned to words;
He has faced solitude alone.
بترک جملهٔ عالم گرفتستفرو رفته بهم در دم گرفتست
He has abandoned the entire world,
And absorbed in himself, he has held his breath.
خدایا قادری و میتوانیباوج همت خویشش رسانی
O God, You are powerful and able
To raise him to the peak of his own high aspiration.
مرا در خرمن او خوشه چین دارز نور او دلم را راه بین دار
Keep me a gleaner of his harvest,
And by his light, keep my heart seeing the way.
