| When one month had passed since Shahr-ara, the king set off towards the garden for a month. | |
| Khosrow possessed a garden outside the city, in whose beauty Paradise was left behind. | |
| Thirty lawns stretched across its sanctuary, where the rose cast its sweat into the pool. | |
| What a pool! Its clarity was like the sun, its water stood like rosewater in perspiration. | |
| Flowing water ran on every side of the lawn, making the herbs of the garden saturated with it. | |
| The free cypresses stretched head to head, blocking the path beneath the willow and boxwood. | |
| As far as the height of the lawn reached, there were plane trees, cypresses, willows, and elms. | |
| The branches were so heavily laden with leaves that they blocked the path of the rain. | |
| Due to the density of its delightful branches, the sky could not see the face of the earth below. | |
| The edge of its stream was a green line, with many peacocks and ducks in its midst. | |
| Before the garden stood a palace like heaven, built with one brick of silver and another of gold. | |
| Its golden thrones were placed on every side, around the pool and portico, face to face. | |
| A hundred kinds of garments were spread out, carpets of satin and black silk laid down. | |
| From every door, such luxury was prepared that one cannot fully describe its splendor. | |
| It was a mansion with an elevated portico, its height reaching up to Saturn. | |
| Before its door was a throne of turquoise, inlaid with a portion of ruby. | |
| A latticed golden dome of high status from which fine musk rained down from above. | |
| Every hour it showered musk, not in a way that would dry out one's temperament. | |
| Its boundary was worth the tribute of the seven climes, its middle made of a brick of gold and a brick of silver. | |
| There were so many carpets, bedding, and garments that the pen cannot paint their description. | |
| It was a house like the picture-gallery of China; this was Gol's house for privacy. | |
| Gol was seated like a moon upon the throne, with moon-faced beauties standing beside the throne. | |
| A jeweled crown was upon her head, and a robe of blue silk upon her body. | |
| Thousands of cypress-like maids stood on their feet, before whose feet intellect laid its head. | |
| The world of rectitude was twisted by their tresses, the world of magic was nothing against their eyes. | |
| Modesty cast a veil over the moon from their faces, sugar fell on the path from their ruby lips. | |
| All stood on their feet before Gol, remaining transfixed as they gazed upon her face. | |
| At nightfall, the prince entered and said to the rose-cheeked one: 'Behold, O moon-born one! | |
| Give me wine, for tomorrow is Nowruz, we must make a heart-warming celebration. | |
| For now, come, so that tonight, happily, we may hold a feast together, O fairy-faced one. | |
| The whole face of the earth is pure water, the whole face of the air is the northern breeze. | |
| Cast your eyes upon the plain, O friend, for the pistachio kernel has emerged from its shell. | |
| Fire has leaped out of the granite stone, the mountaintop has become blood-red with tulips. | |
| The world is fresh and it is the season of spring; a pleasant spiritual concert and sweet wine are here. | |
| In this season, sightseeing is indispensable, accompanied by the bird's lament and high-pitched song.' | |
| The two intoxicated ones were engaged in this, when the day packed its bags, fleeing from the night. | |
| The king of the sun suddenly descended from the back of the white steed of the sphere onto his throne. | |
| The golden-faced, wise-moving king dismounted from his elephant-like horse. | |
| From the indigo-stained, woad-colored sky, the new moon showed its face like an eyebrow. | |
| The black-clad forces of night drew their army, stretching head to head from the fish to the moon. | |
