Book Two - Section 109 - The Acceptance of False Words in the Hearts of the False

Text and Translation

He said: “Now I have accepted the truth with my soul: the straight appears crooked before the crooked.
If you say to a squint-eyed person, ‘The moon is one,’ he will say to you, ‘This is two, and there is doubt about its oneness.’
And if someone laughs at him and says, ‘It is two,’ he considers that right; this is the punishment of the ill-natured.
Lies gather around liars; ‘vile things are for vile people’ has cast its radiance.
The open-hearted have an open hand; for the eyes of the blind, rocky ground is a stumbling block.”
