متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

کنگ زفتی کودکی را یافت فرد	زرد شد کودک ز بیم قصد مرد
A large passive sodomite found a child alone; the child turned pale from fear of the man's intention.
گفت ایمن باش ای زیبای من	که تو خواهی بود بر بالای من
He said, “Be safe, my beautiful one, for you will be on top of me.
من اگر هولم مخنث دان مرا	همچو اشتر بر نشین می ران مرا
If I am frightening, know me as a mukhannath; mount me like a camel and drive me.”
صورت مردان و معنی این چنین	از برون آدم درون دیو لعین
The form is the form of men, but the meaning is like this: outwardly Adam, inwardly an accursed demon.
آن دهل را مانی ای زفت چو عاد	که برو آن شاخ را می کوفت باد
O huge one, like ‘Ad, you resemble that drum on which the wind was beating the branch.
روبهی اشکار خود را باد داد	بهر طبلی همچو خیک پر ز باد
A fox gave his game to the wind for the sake of a drum like a skin full of wind.
چون ندید اندر دهل او فربهی	گفت خوکی به ازین خیک تهی
When he saw no fatness in the drum, he said, “A pig is better than this empty skin.”
روبهان ترسند ز آواز دهل	عاقلش چندان زند که لا تقل
Foxes fear the sound of the drum; the wise person beats it until it says, “Speak no more.”
