بخش ۸ - اندر گشادن دل وی / Section 8 - On the Opening of His Heart

متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

سینهٔ او گشاد روح نخستهرچه جز پاک دید پاک بشست
The Spirit first opened his breast,
And washed clean whatever he saw that was not pure.
درز برداشت در زمان از ویبند بگشاد همچنان از وی
It split open instantly,
And the bonds were likewise untied from him.
سینه ای را که حق حکم باشددرز بگشادنش چه کم باشد
For a breast which holds the divine wisdom,
How could its splitting open be any loss?
بهر آن تا کند درین بنیادچون رفو بیند از رفوگر یاد
So that in this foundation,
When he sees the mending, he remembers the Mender.
از پر جبرئیل گشت درستآن جراحت به امر ایزد چست
By the wing of Gabriel, that wound was healed,
Quickly by the command of the Lord.
دل او بودی از خیانت پاکچون ز اشکال هند تختهٔ خاک
His heart was pure from treachery,
Like a dust-board clean of geometric shapes.
رقم او بود قسمت جان راتختهٔ خاک امر یزدان را
His sign was the division of the soul,
And the dust-board of the command of God.
انبیا گرچه محتشم بودندجملگی صفر آن رقم بودند
Although the prophets were of high rank,
They were all zeros to that number.
پیش بودند نز پی دونیشپیش بودند بهر افزونیش
They were in front, not due to inferiority,
They were in front to increase its value.
گرچه پیشند پیش از این چه غمستپیشی صفر بیشی رقمست
Although they are before, what grief is there in this?
For the front-ness of the zero is the increase of the number.
حکم او همچو حکمتست روانعمر او همچو دولتست جوان
His command flows like wisdom,
His life is youthful like good fortune.
دین او در جهان رفیع شدهاز پی امتان شفیع شده
His religion has become exalted in the world,
He has become an intercessor for his communities.
بخت او خونبهای پیر و جوانخردش کیمیای هر دو جهان
His fortune is the blood-money of the old and young,
His intellect is the alchemy of both worlds.
بود پاکیزه باطن و ظاهرخاک عالم ورا شده طاهر
He was pure in both inward and outward,
The dust of the world became clean for him.
شرع او در بصیرت و احسانبرترست از قیاس و استحسان
His law in insight and excellence,
Is higher than analogy and juristic preference.
ملت درد اصفیا ز گلشمعنی نور انبیا ز دلش
The religion of the pain of the pure ones is from his clay,
The meaning of the light of the prophets is from his heart.
جان یکی فرع او به هفت ندیماو یکی شرع تو به هفت اقلیم
The soul is but a branch of him with seven companions,
He is the unique law of yours for the seven climes.
شوری انگیخت ظاهر و معلومبیمش از بوم و بام کلب الروم
He raised a commotion, clear and known;
Fear of him fell upon the land and roof of Byzantium.
همچو پیکان سوی همه نیکانپر برآورده تیز بی پیکان
Like an arrow-head towards all the good,
Fledged and swift without an arrow-head.
بهر پیکان تیرش از تعلیملقبش داده حق کتاب کریم
For the point of his arrow, through instruction,
God gave him the title of the 'Noble Book'.
اندر آمد به خوی خوش عاطرنسخت علم غیب در خاطر
He entered with a sweet, fragrant character,
With the transcript of the knowledge of the unseen in his mind.
گفت دیدم بهشت مأوی راسدره و عرش و لوح و طوبی را
He said, 'I saw the Abode of Paradise,
The Lote-tree, the Throne, the Tablet, and the Tuba tree.
دیدم از دل به دیدهٔ لاهوتدر جوامع صوامع ملکوت
I saw with my heart, through the eyes of the divine nature,
The assemblies and hermitages of the celestial realm.
لطف فردوس را پسندیدمقهر زندان عدل هم دیدم
I appreciated the grace of Paradise,
And I also saw the punishment of the prison of justice.
هرچه مکنون غیب حضرت بودبه کم از ساعتی مرا بنمود
Whatever was hidden in the unseen of the Divine Presence,
Was shown to me in less than an hour.'
داند آنکو دلش ز ریب تهیستکین همه غیب عالم علویست
He knows, whose heart is empty of doubt,
That all of this is the unseen of the upper world.
واسطه کیست پیش پرده سرایجز ازو در میان خلق و خدای
Who is the mediator before the curtain-holder,
Other than him, between creation and God?
گر شریفند و گر وضیع همهکرم او بود شفیع همه
Whether noble or humble,
His generosity is the intercessor for them all.
