متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

کسی بر سر وحدت گشت واقفکه او واقف نشد اندر مواقف
He became aware of the secret of unity
Who did not tarry in the halting-places.
دل عارف شناسا ی وجود استوجود مطلق او را در شهود است
The heart of the gnostic is cognizant of existence;
Absolute existence is manifest to his vision.
به جز هست حقیقی ، هست نشناختاز آن رو هستی خود پاک در باخت
He recognized no existence except the True Being,
And thus completely lost his own existence.
وجود تو همه خار است و خاشاکبرون انداز از خود جمله را پاک
Your existence is entirely thorns and weeds;
Cast it all away from yourself completely.
برو تو خانهٔ دل را فرو روبمهیا کن مقام و جای محبوب
Go, sweep the chamber of the heart;
Prepare the dwelling and place of the Beloved.
چو تو بیرون شدی او اندر آیدبه تو، بی تو جمال خود نماید
When you go out, He will enter;
Without you, He will show His beauty to you.
کسی کاو از نوافل گشت محبوببه لای نفی کرد او خانه جاروب
He who became beloved through supererogatory deeds
Swept the house with the 'No' of negation.
درون جان محبوب او مکان یافتز «بی یسمع و بی یبصر » نشان یافت
He found a place within the soul of the Beloved;
He found a sign of 'Through Me he hears and through Me he sees.'
ز هستی تا بود باقی بر او شیننیابد علم عارف صورت عین
As long as any stain of existence remains upon him,
The gnostic's knowledge will not find the form of the reality.
موانع تا نگردانی ز خود دوردرون خانهٔ دل نایدت نور
Until you cast away the obstacles from yourself,
No light will enter the chamber of your heart.
موانع چون در این عالم چهار استطهارت کردن از وی هم چهار است
Since the obstacles in this world are four,
The purification from them is also fourfold:
نخستین پاکی از احداث و انجاسدوم از معصیت وز شر وسواس
First, purification from ritual and physical impurities;
Second, from disobedience and the evil of temptations;
سوم پاکی ز اخلاق ذمیمه استکه با وی آدمی همچون بهیمه است
Third, purification from blameworthy moral traits,
With which a human is like a beast;
چهارم پاکی سر است از غیرکه اینجا منتهی می گرددش سیر
Fourth, the purification of the secret from 'other,'
Where his journey comes to an end.
هر آن کاو کرد حاصل این طهاراتشود بی شک سزاوار مناجات
Whoever achieves these purifications
Without doubt becomes worthy of intimate prayer.
تو تا خود را به کلی در نبازینماز ت کی شود هرگز نمازی
Until you completely lose yourself,
How will your prayer ever be a true prayer?
چو ذاتت پاک گردد از همه شیننمازت گردد آنگه قرةالعین
When your essence is purified of all stain,
Your prayer will then become the delight of the eye.
نماند در میانه هیچ تمییزشود معروف و عارف جمله یک چیز
No distinction will remain in between;
The Known and the Knower will become one and the same.
