بخش ۳ - در بیان آنکه حقیقت حضرت حق سبحانه و تعالی هستی ساذج است و وجود مطلق / Section 3 - On the Explanation that the Reality of the Exalted Truth, Glorified and Exalted be He, is Pure Being and Absolute Existence

Text and Translation

The far-sighted ones of the court of Pre-Eternity
Have discovered nothing more than that He exists.
His pure essence is free from 'how' and 'how much',
A simple being, free from signs.
In the occupant and the place, whether above or below,
It is a simple unity and pure existence.
A unity upon which multiplicity has become apparent,
Flowing in all, yet free from all.
Beyond the boundaries of attachments,
And safe from the chains of determinations.
Neither caught in the trap of constraints,
Nor bound even by absoluteness.
He Himself is both constrained and absolute,
Sometimes appearing from the false, sometimes from the truth.
His constraint is adaptable to absoluteness,
His poison mingles with the antidote.
He is the kernel of the world, all the world is shell;
Indeed, what is kernel and what is shell, since all is He?
The whole world was hidden within Him;
He manifested His essence within the whole.
The whole in Him is exactly Him, and He in the whole
Is exactly the whole, like water in the clay.
Water in the clay is clay, and clay in the water
Is exactly water; grasp this subtle point.
This speech is higher than the comprehension of understandings;
How can it be comprehended except by abandoning conventions?
No one attains this through mere whim;
Pass beyond name and convention to arrive.
Leave behind the intellect, for it is a hobble for you,
The seed of deceit and the snare of your trickery.
The intellect, other than Him in this dwelling of acquisition,
Is solely for the manners of servitude.
With an ailing proof and a sick thought,
How can one know the attributes and essence of the Eternal?
Even if the mat-weaver were to split
A hair with his skill, how can he weave silk?
