Section 3 - The Tale and the Parable

Text and Translation

A ship came and was wrecked in the sea
A plank from it floated on the surface
A cat and a mouse remained on that plank
Their fate with one another became bound
Neither did the mouse have fear of the cat
Nor did that confused one intend for the mouse
Both of them, from the terror of the sea, oh wonder!
Remained in bewilderment with dry lips
Having no courage to move, nor power to travel
Both became selfless, neither essence nor other
In the Resurrection too, there will be such an uproar
Meaning, there will be neither 'you' nor 'we' there
The awe of this path is a difficult matter
A hundred worlds have hearts full of blood from this dread
Whoever is closer is more bewildered
The affair of those far away is somewhat easier
