| پسر گفتش بگو تا جادوئی چیست | که نتوانم دمی بی شوق آن زیست |
| The son said to him, 'Tell me what magic is, For I cannot live a single moment without longing for it. | |
| چو سحرم این چنین محبوب آمد | چرا نزدیک تو معیوب آمد |
| Since magic has become so beloved to me, Why has it appeared flawed to you? | |
| مرا از سر سحرآگاه گردان | پس آنگه با خودم همراه گردان |
| Make me aware of the secret of magic, And then make me companion to myself.' | |
