بخش ۱ - المقاله الحادی عشر / Section 1 - The Eleventh Discourse

متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

عزیزا گر شوی از خواب بیدار	خبر یابی ز شادیهای بسیار
O dear one, if you wake from sleep You will find news of many joys
اگرچه جمله در اندوه و دردیم	یقین دانم که آخر شاد گردیم
Although we are all in sorrow and pain I know for certain we will ultimately rejoice
چو خاری هست ریحان نیز باشد	چو دردی هست درمان نیز باشد
Since there is a thorn, there is also sweet basil Since there is a pain, there is also a cure
اگر امروز ظاهر نیست درمان	شود ظاهر چو آید وقت فرمان
If the cure is not visible today It will appear when the time of command comes
از آن از حد گذشت این قصه ما	که درد آمد ز قسمت حصه ما
For this reason our story has exceeded its bounds Because pain came as our allotted portion
جهانی را که درمانست حصه	نه حصه باشد آنجا و نه قصه
In a world whose portion is the cure Neither portion is there, nor story
بدانستیم بی شبهت یقین ما	که خوش خواهیم بودن بعد ازین ما
We knew without doubt, as our absolute certainty That we will be happy after this
بهر رنجی که ما اینجا کشیدیم	بهر دردی و اندوهی که دیدیم
For every suffering we endured here For every pain and sorrow we saw
یکی شادی عوض یابیم آنجا	بیا تا زود بشتابیم آنجا
We will find a joy in exchange there Come, let us hasten there quickly
ورای آن که ما جمله درآنیم	بلاییست این که چیزی می ندانیم
Beyond that which we are all enveloped in It is an affliction that we know nothing
چرا ناخوش دلی ای مرد درویش	که بسیاری خوشی داری تو در پیش
Why are you heavy-hearted, O dervish? For you have much happiness ahead of you
زهی لذت که نقد آن جهانست	همه لذت علی الاطلاق آنست
What a delight is the ready cash of that world! All absolute delight is truly that
از آنت گر بود یک ذره روزی	ز شوق ذره دیگر بسوزی
If even a single atom of it were your daily provision From desire for another atom you would burn
جهان جاودان خوش خوش جهانیست	که کلی این جهان زان یک نشانیست
The eternal world is a wonderfully joyous world Of which this entire world is but a sign
همه پیغامبران را جای آنجاست	دل و دین جان و جان افزای آنجاست
The abode of all prophets is there Heart and faith, soul and the soul-increaser are there
همه روحانیان آنجا مقیم اند	همه حوران در آن مجلس ندیم اند
All spiritual beings are residents there All heavenly maidens are companions in that assembly
گر آنجا بایدت کز من شنیدی	همی از خود بر آنجا رسیدی
If you desire that place which you heard from me You can reach there from within yourself
گر اینجا از وجود خود بمیری	هم اینجا حلقه آن در بگیری
If you die to your own existence here Right here you will grasp the knocker of that door
