بخش ۲ - فی فضیلت امیرالمؤمنین عمر رضی الله عنه / Section 2 - On the Virtue of the Commander of the Faithful Umar, May Allah Be Pleased with Him

متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

سپهر دین عمر خورشید خطابچراغ هشت جنت شمع اصحاب
The sphere of religion, Umar, the sun of Khattab
The lamp of the eight paradises, the candle of the companions
چه شمعی کآفتاب نامبردارطواف او کند پروانه کردار
What a candle, that the renowned sun
Circumambulates him like a moth
ازین پرتو که بود آن شمع دین رانمی شایست جز خلد برین را
From this radiance that this candle of religion possessed
He was worthy of nothing but the highest heaven
اگر او قطب دین حق نبودیکمال شرع را رونق نبودی
If he were not the pole of the religion of truth
The perfection of the Sharia would have no splendor
ز بهر سر بریدن سر بداد اوبدان شد تا سرآرد سر نهاد او
He set out to behead, but gave up his own head
He went to bring it to an end, he laid down his head
چو آهنگ سر شمع هدی کردبه پیش طای طاها سر فدا کرد
When he made for the head of the candle of guidance
Before the 'Ta' of 'Ta-Ha', he sacrificed his head
چو چشم جان او اسرار بین شدشکش برخاست مشکلها یقین شد
When the eye of his soul became a seer of secrets
His doubt departed, difficulties became certainties
شریعت را کمال افزود اولز چل مردان یکی او بود اول
He first added perfection to the Sharia
He was the first among the forty men
رسولش گفت گر بودی دگر کسنبی جز من نبودی جز عمر کس
His Messenger said: If there were to be another person
A prophet besides me, it would be no one but Umar
خداوند جهان از نور جانشسخنها گفته بی او بر زفانش
The Lord of the world, from the light of his soul
Spoke words, without him, upon his tongue
چو حق را حلقهٔ در گوش کرد اوبنامش زهر قاتل نوش کرد او
When he placed the ring of truth in his ear
In His name, he drank the deadly poison
از آن برخویشتن زهر آزمودیکه صد تریاق فاروقیش بودی
He tested the poison upon himself for this reason
That he possessed a hundred Farooqi antidotes
چنان شد ظلم در ایام او گمکه اشکی در میان بحر قلزم
Oppression became so lost in his days
Like a teardrop in the middle of the Red Sea
جهان از عدل او آسوده گشتهستم از بیم او نابوده گشته
The world became tranquil from his justice
Tyranny became non-existent from fear of him
عجم را تا قیامت درگشادههزار و شصت وشش منبر نهاده
He opened the door to Persia until the Resurrection
And established a thousand and sixty-six pulpits
